Fees: $20 per LD, $40 per Team & TCFL Dues if this is your first TCFL Tournament of the season. For non-TCFL schools competing in WSD, the entry fee for WSD is $50. Please make checks payable to "Tri-County Forensic League".

Debate Topics:

Policy Debate:
"Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase fiscal redistribution in the United States by adopting a federal jobs guarantee, expanding Social Security, and/or providing a basic income."

Lincoln-Douglas Debate:
January/February: "Resolved: The United States ought to substantially reduce its military presence in the West Asia-North Africa region."

Public Forum Debate:
January: "Resolved: The United States federal government should repeal Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act."

World Schools Debate:
Rounds 1 & 2 Prepared Motion: This House prefers investment in public transportation infrastructure over investment in automobile infrastructure. (teams debate both sides), Round 3 Impromptu Motion

Parliamentary Debate topics will be published 20 minutes before round.

Judges: Each school is obligated to provide one qualified judge per every 2 Policy, Parli, PF, and WSD teams,* and one qualified judge per every 4 LD entries.* If your judging quota is not met, your entries will be dropped until your entry numbers match the amount of judge coverage you have provided. Judges should have laptops/an electronic device to complete their ballot.

Because of the differences that exist in human perception, a subjective quality is present in the scoring of Speech and Debate rounds. Even with rules and evaluation criteria for guidance, judges will not evaluate the same performance in an identical manner. While we do everything possible to maintain consistency in scoring, winning results are not guaranteed.
