Dear colleagues,

The McMillen High School Speech & Debate team cordially invites you to the McMillen High School Last Word TFA NIETOC Congress IE tournament on Saturday, February 10, 2024. "The Last Word" is the LAST tournament of the season in Region 2 to earn IE and Congress state qualification points.

Congress and all qualifying TFA IE events plus Prose, Poetry, and Impromptu Speaking will be offered. Congressional debaters are eligible to cross-enter into Pattern B events. Students may enter up to 3 events per pattern, but only 1 division of Extemp.

If you are looking for Debate events, Jesuit Dallas has a debate only tournament this same weekend.

IEs with 24 or more entries, will have 2 prelims, a semi, and a final.

IEs with fewer than 24 entries will have 3 prelims and a final.

We will provide a catered hospitality room for judges and coaches with breakfast, lunch, and dinner plus snacks and drinks--and a well stocked concession stand will be available for students to purchase snacks and meals courtesy of our invaluable Plano Eastside Boosters.

Buses: Drop off students at the back of the building accross from the track. McMillen squad members will be available to direct you to the cafeteria. McMillen students will also help competitors navigate the halls. Look for any student wearing a McMillen shirt and ID badge if you have questions.
