Welcome Back to the 5th Annual Sparkle Season Spectacular hosted online by Upper St. Clair HS in Pittsburgh. This is a charity tournament and all entry fees not spent on NSDA Campus will be donated to a charity chosen by the tournament. The link to choose which charity we'll donate to is here: TBA
This year, we'll be offering ASYNC speech events only.
Entry videos are due by Tuesday, 12/17 @4pm.
Judging will be completed by Saturday 12/21 at Noon.
All events will use PHSSL Rules (www.phssl.org) except for Pro/Con challenge and Prepared Prompt speaking, which will use NSDA Rules. You may use any debate resolution, Congress bill/resolution/amendment, or extemp question you like for Pro/Con Challenge, but it must be in ONE VIDEO FILE.
Please ensure your contact person and judges are available via phone/email until they submit their ballots. We had a lot of issues last year getting into contact with people on Friday/Saturday.
Prepared prompt speaking can use any of the topics from this website: https://extemp.com/
Pro/Con Challenge should use Congress Bills or extemp topics and NOT debate cases.
COACHES: You are responsible for knowing whether your student's videos are accessible when you upload the links. The tournament highly recommends UNLISTED (NOT PRIVATE) YouTube videos. Students will be automatically dropped and the team will still be responsible for their fees if their videos are still inaccessible on Wednesday morning.
A link to an awards video will be posted after all ballots are turned in. There will be no formal physical/digital awards.
**We have a number of judges for hire for $100 if you're interested**
