Becky Galentine Memorial Tournament
2016 — WA/US
To All Coaches,
Below are the final results of the 2016 Galentine tournament. Included are placing for all individual events and debate events.
Please note two significant tabulation errors.
First, Seattle Academy’s Conor Pierce was incorrectly excluded from the final round of oratory, due to a tabroom.com error. We retroactively award Seattle CP a finalist position and gave Seattle Academy credit for a finalist award in our sweepstakes counting.
Second, Mt. Si’s varsity Public Forum team of Zinkan & Thompson were incorrectly excluded from semifinals, due to an incorrectly entered ballot. We retroactively award Mt. Si ZT third place in varsity PF and gave Mt. Si credit in our sweepstakes counting.
These errors were both a product of human and technological errors in tabulation and indicate no error on the part of the competitors and coaches. It is my opinion that all the above competitors should receive full credit for the positions we retroactively awarded them, for state qualification purposes and otherwise.
Thank you for attending the Galentine and we look forward to next year!
Best,
Michael Souders, Ph.D
