Tournament Forfeit Rule

We will be implementing a strict 15-minute forfeit rule for the tournament. That is to say, if tournament staff is made aware that a student is not in their room and prepared to compete 15 minutes after the start time of the round, that student will forfeit that round. Once a forfeit is entered, it will not be reversed. We need everyone to show up promptly and move efficiently to finish the tournament in a timely manner.

This does not apply to cross-entered students in Speech events. Those students will have 75 minutes from the start of the round to show up in all rounds they are entered in and begin performing. For instance, the 3:45 Pattern A prelim will have a cut-off time of 5:00 pm for performances to begin. Students who do not appear in those rounds will be ranked last.
