At least two pieces of literature that represent at least two separate genres must be used. POI may use multiple sources for the program, and all sources must be verbally identified by title and author. Competitors are encouraged to give equal time to each of the genres used in the program. Presentation is to be from a manuscript, and the manuscript may be used as a prop. Selections must be printed published material. Monologues are acceptable.

The time limit is not greater than 10 minutes, with a 30-second grace period allowed. There will be no hand gestures to the contestant.

Considerations: Are the selections and material suitable for the contest? What was the delivery of the performer like? Were they able to interpret characters correctly and consistently? Was the narrative vivid and animated?
