Pro Con Challenge

Purpose: Pro-Con Challenge is defined as an individual event where students explore the current debate topics by the NSDA while showing off their writing, research and delivery skills. Students will deliver a PRO speech for the resolution AND a CON speech against the resolution in the same video recording.

Topics: Topics will center around issues pertaining to the state of Georgia. They will be framed as debate resolutions. They will be posted at least four weeks prior to the Supplemental Asynchronous Forensic Activities State Championship.

Length: The time limit is five (5) minutes with a fifteen (15) second grace period for each side of the resolution, culminating in a ten (10) minute speech with a thirty (30) second grace period. Should a student go beyond the grace period, the student may not be ranked 1st.

Performance Documents/Aids: Speeches can be read to the judges in the recording or presented from memory.
