ASYNCHRONOUS SPEECH OLYMPIAD

We are pleased to invite you to Green Valley High School's first Asynchronous Forensics Olympiad tournament. Find us at http://gvsd.tabroom.com/

The following events will be asynchronously offered for NIETOC Bids: Varsity Drama, Varsity Humor, Varsity Duo, Varsity Informative, Varsity Program Oral Interpretation, and Varsity Original Oratory!!

Here at Green Valley, we understand that this may feel early in the year and you may have novice members that are competing in their first or one of their first tournaments. We will also offer a novice category in the above events as well at a discounted price!

Rules:

Videos should be recorded (either by the coach or the students), uploaded to YouTube as "Unlisted", and then a link to that video should be added to the student's registration information in Tabroom. This must be completed by October 12, 2024 by 5:00 pm.

Our goal is to begin sending out novice rounds out on Monday, Oct. 14, 2024.

Judging:

-We are asking that each school submit one judge for every seven entries. Adults over the age of 18 years old are eligible to judge varsity level events. Coaches, please sign those individuals up as "Varsity Judge."

-Varsity students that would like to receive points for judging are allowed to judge novice events! Coaches, you will be signing those individuals up as "Novice Judge."

Speech Ballots:

-Please enter points for each speaker, from 20-30. Your top speaker should receive the highest amount of points. No ties.

-Please write a minimum of 15 words of feedback on ballots. You will be asked to go and add more feedback if there are not at least 15 words per ballot.

AWARDS:

Since this is the Speech Olympiad, we do have medals (nice ones) that we will be mailing out or bringing to future tournaments for each competitor/school.

1st place-GOLD Medal

2nd place-SILVER Medal

3rd place-BRONZE Medal

4th-6th place-Ribbons (Rosettes? We are still in conversations with the supplier on which one is nicer for competitors)

Tentative schedule: All times PST

COST:

All varsity level events, which are available to earn a NIETOC bid are $10.00 per event.

All novice level events, which are not available to earn a NIETOC bid are $7.00 per event.

Results will be published on October 19, 2024 and awards will be mailed out on Monday October 21, 2024.
