Storybook Novice

Event Description:

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Storybook is often an entry to tournaments for junior division students; comments should be positive, helpful.

2. The speaker should read as if speaking to an audience of younger children, emphasizing characters and drama.

3. The Introduction should create an atmosphere, explain the context of the story and engage the audience.

4. The story must be read in the third person; speakers may sit or stand, but cannot switch during the presentation.

5. Stories should run at least 4:00 minutes, but cannot exceed 8:30; penalize one place in round if over or under time.
