Event Description:

Oratory - Open Division

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Speech should be the speaker’s original work delivered from memory, but he/she should have a copy on hand.

2. Judges should not use a copy of the speech to follow along; they should focus on the speaker.

3. Senior Division allowed no more than 100 quoted words; Junior Division allowed no more than 50 quoted words.

4. Presentation should be persuasive one, dealing with a problem/solution, danger, a cause or a eulogy to a person.

5. Speaker docked one place in round if exceeding 8:30 (Open) or if speech is not memorized or script used.
