Event Description:

Dramatic Interpretive - Novice Division

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Speaker reads a selection from published fiction, prose, poetry or humor piece — material should be dramatic.

2. Speaker must include an Introduction — it need not be memorized, but is included in the time limit.

3. Body movements are limited to a one-step radius; gestures should be “restrained,” not overly theatrical.

4. Speaker should be marked down one place in the round if he or she exceeds the 8:30 time limit.
