Original Oratory

Event Description:

Oratory is a persuasive memorized 7-10 minute speech. There is a 30 second grace period over or under time limits. The goal of an Oratory is to present a problem, impacts, and solution in a persuasive manner. These competitors are trying to convince the judge why their topic is an important issue. Competitors should be judged on their ability to provide a relevant or interesting topic, ability to keep the judge engaged, and their delivery. It should be noted that competitors who are not memorized i.e. reading off of phones or papers cannot place 1st in the room.
